Coach Donel Briggs was awarded the "Earnest Brown Good Change Award" as a resident of Columbus, MS that is making change in his community. 

Even though Coach Briggs was born in Michigan, he has adopted Mississippi as his home. 

With the motto "It takes a village & It's bigger than basketball" Briggs works to empower young people and get them on the right path by teaching them athletic and life skills. 

STY's basketball program is accredited through the AAU and has competed in 18 tournaments and three college campus tours. 

Briggs has been through hard times, and works with young people to help them steer away from those situations.
